PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR ATTENDS ITALIAN UNITY AND ARMED FORCES DAY, REAFFIRMS PHILIPPINE-ITALIAN DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

Islamabad, Pakistan - 04 November 2025 Ambassador Emmanuel R. Fernandez and his spouse Madame Alice Kalaw-Fernandez attended the reception hosted by the Defence Attache of Italy, Colonel Paolo Stella, and his wife Mme. Roberta Stella, in celebration of Italian Unity and Italian Armed Forces Day. The reception was held at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad.

The Honourable Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Defence Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, graced the occasion as its Chief Guest.

Ambassador Fernandez's attendance was a testament to the enduring strength of Philippine-Italian diplomatic relations and a renewal of the Philippines' commitment to further deepen that bilateral relationship across areas of mutual interest - including defence cooperation, cultural exchange, trade and investment, and people-to-people ties.

The event also provided an opportunity for Ambassador Fernandez to engage with officials of the Pakistani government, fellow ambassadors and other diplomatic representatives in a spirit of friendship and shared support for multilateral cooperation.
