PHILIPPINES CALLS FOR STRONGER CONNECTIVITY, ACADEMIC LINKAGES AND HALAL COOPERATION AT ASEAN-PAKISTAN INVESTMENT DIALOGUE
 
     
  Ambassador Emmanuel R. Fernandez represented the Philippines at the joint courtesy call of ASEAN Ambassadors on the Federal Minister for Investment, Privatization, and the Board of Investment, H.E. Mr. Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, on 31 October 2025 at the Prime Minister's Office in Islamabad.

During the meeting, Ambassador Fernandez underscored the Philippines' commitment to advancing ASEAN-Pakistan economic cooperation, emphasizing strengthened investor linkages through the Philippine-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission (JEC), improved air connectivity to support trade and tourism, expanded collaboration in education and youth exchanges, and deeper cooperation in agriculture, ICT, and the halal industry.

The Ambassador highlighted the importance of people-to-people ties, innovation-driven growth, and maximizing the complementary strengths of both regions. The dialogue reaffirmed shared commitment to accelerating ASEAN-Pakistan investment, enhancing supply-chain connectivity, and unlocking the full potential of bilateral and regional partnerships.
