AMBASSADOR FERNANDEZ JOINS CELEBRATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS' 80th ANNIVERSARY

Islamabad, Pakistan; 24 October 2025 - His Excellency Ambassador Emmanuel R. Fernandez and his spouse Madame Alice Kalaw-Fernandez graced the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, held yesterday at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad. The event brought together ambassadors and other diplomats, top government officials and civil society representatives to mark eight decades of the UN's commitment to global peace, development and human dignity.

Hosted by Mr. Mohamed Yahya, the UN's Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Pakistan, the event was also graced by Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar (the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan) who was its Chief Guest; and Senator Yusuf Raza Gilani (Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan).

Ambassador Fernandez's presence at the event represents a clear reaffirmation of the Philippines' steadfast support for the United Nations - its foundational vision, its ideals of peace, dignity, and prosperity for all, and its role as the cornerstone of multilateral diplomacy in the 21st century.
