PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR STRENGTHENS
COOPERATION WITH PAKISTAN ON SKILLS DEVELOPMENT AND TECHNICAL TRAINING His Excellency Ambassador Emmanuel R. Fernandez received Mr. Rizwan Raunaq Rao, Director for International Coordination, and Mr. Shahid Rashid, Director for Registration, of the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) of Pakistan, during a courtesy call at the Embassy on 20 October 2025. The meeting reaffirmed Pakistan’s high regard for the Philippine Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) model, which NAVTTC seeks to emulate in strengthening its domestic Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) framework. Both sides discussed avenues for institutional cooperation in skills development, including potential TESDA–NAVTTC collaboration on training standards, mutual recognition of qualifications, and workforce development initiatives aligned with each country’s labor mobility goals. Ambassador Fernandez welcomed NAVTTC’s initiative and underscored the Philippines’ readiness to share its expertise in technical education and skills training—reflecting the Embassy’s continuing efforts to advance economic diplomacy through education, innovation, and human capital development. |
