PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR STRENGTHENS THAILAND-PHILIPPINES DIPLOMATIC TIES |

Islamabad - H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R.
Fernandez, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Pakistan,
accompanied by his spouse Mme. Alicia Kalaw-Fernandez, attended the
National Day Reception of the Kingdom of Thailand on 04 December 2025.
The celebration also coincided with Thailand’s Father's Day, a national
observance held every December to pay tribute to the late King Bhumibol
Adulyadej, who is deeply revered in Thailand as the "Father of the
Nation." The dual event was hosted by H.E. Mr. Rongvudhi Virabutr, Ambassador of Thailand to Pakistan, with H.E. Mr. Bilal Azhar Kayani, State Minister for Finance and Railways, serving as the chief guest. Ambassador Fernandez's participation in this dual celebration underscores the Philippines' commitment to nurturing and strengthening its longstanding friendship with Thailand. His attendance also highlights the importance of people-to-people diplomacy-an essential component in fostering mutual goodwill, cultural understanding, and cooperation between the two ASEAN partners. |
