AMBASSADOR FERNANDEZ ATTENDS WELCOME CEREMONY FOR U.N. ENVOY FOR ROAD SAFETY

 
     
  Islamabad, 24 October 2025 - Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan, His Excellency Emmanuel R. Fernandez, attended the welcome ceremony hosted by Senator Sitara Ayaz, Secretary-General of the International Parliamentarians Congress (IPC), in honor of Mr. Jean Todt, the United Nations Secretary-General's Envoy for Road Safety. The event was held on 24 October 2025 at the IPC Secretariat in Islamabad.

Ambassador Fernandez joined distinguished guests, parliamentarians, and diplomats in welcoming Mr. Todt, whose global advocacy focuses on advancing road safety initiatives and reducing traffic-related fatalities worldwide.

In his participation, Ambassador Fernandez reaffirmed the Philippines' commitment to promoting road safety both at home and across the globe. He underscored the importance of international cooperation in fostering safer transport systems and supporting the UN's Sustainable Development Goals related to road safety and public health.
