Ambassador Daniel Ramos Espiritu led
the Philippine Embassy Team in
Islamabad in a Consular Mission in
Lahore, Pakistan on 28 August 2016.
With the Ambassador were ATN Officer
Ms. Helen R. Firme-Subido, Passport
Officer & I.T. Specialist Mr. Billy
S. Aguilar and Local Hire Mr. Naseem
Hussain.
The outreach activity was conducted
at the Office of the Philippine
Honorary Consul General in Lahore,
which was attended by 88 Filipino
expats. The Consular Team was able
to process twenty-two (22) passport
renewals, three (3) extension of
validity of passports, eleven (11)
No Objection Certificates, one (1)
authentication, and sixty-six (66)
applications for registration and
Embassy IDs.
ATN Consultation was also conducted
addressing the concerns of three
OFWs on contracts and work-related
conditions.
The night before the Consular
Outreach on, 27 August 2016,
Ambassador Espiritu and his staff
attended the inaugural meeting of
Makabayan, an organization of
Filipinos, most of them women,
married to Pakistani nationals,
headed by Mrs. Dania Kazi and Engr.
Roland Tagufa. The group, whose
members identify themselves as
“Pinoy Moms”, presented a long-term
calendar of proposed Philippine
cultural, historical and livelihood
activities for all Filipinos living
and working in Lahore, Pakistan. The
meeting was also attended by the
children of these marriages, called
Paki-Pinoys, most of whom are in
their teens and early twenties. |
